Six Months

Six months ago today I married this amazing man.

He has taught me more about love, trust, and our Heavenly Father than I ever thought possible.

He makes me a better person every day and constantly teaches me about myself.

I love you baby and am so excited about what the futures holds for us. Thanks for everything.

February Reading Schedule

Here is the reading schedule for February if you are doing the Standard Works Challenge.

For the past month I have been doing this challenge and it is amazing how much it has affected me. When we earnestly study the gospel the Spirit is able to communicate with us better and I can see his guiding hand throughout my life.

If you would like a copy to print out just shoot me a comment below.

Be a Cork

“A pebble held close to the eye appears to be a gigantic obstacle. Cast on the ground, it is seen in perspective. Likewise, problems or trials in our lives need to be viewed in the perspective of scriptural doctrine. Otherwise they can easily overtake our vision, absorb our energy, and deprive us of the joy and beauty the Lord intends us to receive here on earth. Some people are like rocks thrown into a sea of problems. They are drowned by them. Be a cork. When submerged in a problem, fight to be free to bob up to serve again with happiness.”
Richard G. Scott, Ensign, May 1996

Oh how much I love the apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are uplifting, inspiring, and always touch me when I need it most.

Food For thought on this beautiful chilly morning...

How's your Hot Chocolate?
Daily inspiration from Accounting 402

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired.  During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives.  Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups - porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said: "Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.  While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate.  In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups.  They are just tools to hold and contain life.  The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life  you have.  Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us.  God makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups. The happiest people don't have the best of everything.  They just make the best of everything that they have.  Live simply.  Love generously.  Care deeply. Speak kindly. And enjoy your hot chocolate.

I have been thinking about this alot lately, more on this topic to come soon.

It's been absolutely beautiful

daily inspiration via pinterest

I haven't felt like blogging lately. School is so busy and I barely have time to sleep, let alone think of something clever to say on the world wide web. Please accept my apology with my inspiration as of late.

I will do better. I promise. Just not next week since it is test week.

Until then,
Kate
